“Free Tutoring” for eligible students

A Title I, Part A Program Improvement Opportunity

Under the No Child Left Behind law of 2001, eligible students, at identified schools, can receive additional academic support, at no cost to the family. Students must be of low-socio-economic status as determined by Free and Reduced Lunch eligibility.

Goals of SES

  • To provide additional academic support to low income students who are at risk of not meeting state standards.
  • To provide opportunities for parents to be consumers in their ability to select another agency to provide tutoring to their child at the district’s expense.

Student Eligibility

  • Students who are “low income” (free / Reduced Lunch ELIGIBLE) are eligible for services
  • If there are more eligible students than funding allows, students will be prioritized by with the lowest achieving students receiving highest priority.
  • Special Education Students – SES services are supported by Title I. They are supplemental services and are not a component of the required IEP services.

Free and Reduced Lunch Applications are available at the school office

If interested, parents may submit an application

  1. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to provide transportation. The District will cover the cost of the academic support, through an approved provider, up to the specified per pupil allotment, but will not pay for transportation.
  2. All providers are independent contractors.

“Curso Particular Libre” para los estudiantes elegibles

Un Título I oportunidad de la mejora del programa

Debajo del niño de no dejado detrás de la ley de 2001, los estudiantes elegibles, en las escuelas identificadas, pueden recibir la ayuda académica adicional, en ningún coste a la familia. Si están interesados, los padres pueden someter un uso
