The Special Education department of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools provides service to school districts on behalf of students with exceptional needs. The Special Education department provides a wide range of services to meet the needs of students and their families from birth through 21 years of age. Three regional offices, Desert/Mountain, East Valley, and West End, work in cooperation with local SELPA staff and participating districts to coordinate services for the students served by the department. By working in collaboration with other agencies, the department maximizes the support offered to students and their families. Special Education strives to develop individualized, quality programs to promote student independence and is committed to enabling students to become productive citizens.
