Room on the Broom

Not only is this a delightful rhyming book to read to the children, but it's also a wonderful book to develop story sequencing and language skills. Below you will see some manipulatives used to reinforce the concept of "first and last". (The first animal on the broom was the cat, the last was the frog.) The children retold the story using these manipulatives which were made by scanning the pictures and cutting out the characters.
