Jump The River Game
Materials Needed
Large blue sheet or length of material to represent river
Outline of gingerbread men in all eleven colors mounted on tongue depressors to make puppets
.

In this game, the children have been familiarized with the story of The Gingerbread Man and are given the instruction in song, (childs name), run as fast as you can and find the (color) gingerbread man, they find the appropriate gingerbread man and jump the river to save him. This can be played until everyone has a turn or several times. See Music Page for song tune. The staff move the river according to the ability of the child.

Must Be Santa Role Play

The children sing the song, Must Be Santa and act out all the parts of the song, ie. cherry nose, beard that is white etc. See Music Page for song detail.
