
Children Friendly Gingerbread Boys
Ingredients
1/2 Cup shortening + 1 tbsp.
1/2 Cup brown sugar
2 Eggs
1 package Butterscotch pudding mix
11/2 cups flour
11/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Gingerbread Cookie Cutters
Cream the shortening
and sugar, add eggs and mix well. Add dry pudding mix and flour and
spices. Mix well. Have the children roll the dough to about
1/4 inch thick and cut with cookie cutter. Bake on greased cookie
sheet for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. This dough is easy to handle.
We made ours on paper plates with a little flour sprinkled on them.
Reindeer Sandwiches
Ingredients
White Bread ( two slices for each child)
Maraschino cherries ( 1 per child)
straight pretzels (two for each child, plus some for
munching)
Bologna (1 slice for each child)
Cheese (1 slice for each child)
butter or mayonnaise if desired
Supplies
Napkins or paper plates
Have the children layer the cheese and bologna and make a conventional sandwich. Then cut the sandwich into triangles, stick pretzels at top corners and a cherry at the point of the triangle to make a reindeer face. See photo. This was a great hit with the children!
