Transition Partnership Project

"A training and employment program that benefits students, employers, and the local community"

OUR GOAL

The goal of the Transition Partnership Project is to facilitate the building of partnerships between the business community, high schools, and the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation for the purpose of successfully transitioning young adults into competitive employment.

TRANSITION

The Transition Partnership Project (TPP) combines the resources of the East Valley Special Education Local Plan Area (EVSELPA), local school districts, and Vocational Rehabilitation to provide placement of qualified workers in public and private jobs.

The participants are high school graduates and seniors who are exiting high school. TPP staff pre-screens each applicant and selects employers who are the ideal match for each work situation.,

Prior to placement, students participate in a career education class. Areas covered in the class include: personal portfolio assistance, work place etiquette, productive work habits, job maintenance skills, and awareness of employer expectations. After completion of the career education class students have the option of selecting a vocational training/educational program or direct placement and on-the-job training. Students are then assigned a job developer to facilitate job placement. Applicants are monitored at their job site for 90 days or more to ensure employer success and employer satisfaction.
