Professional Development Offerings At-A-Glance

The San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Regional Occupational Program (SBCSS ROP) provides a variety of career technical education courses designed to prepare high school students (over 16 years of age) and adults for their future careers. Currently, we offer over 125 different career technical education courses that can prepare individuals for employment or more advanced levels of education and training. Additional services provided include career guidance and job placement assistance. SBCSS ROP serves the following 16 districts:

SBCSS ROP also serves the Juvenile Court School program and the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center and West Valley Detention Center. The SBCSS ROP is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

  • CTE Standards and Frameworks
  • Integration of math and language arts academic content into CTE classes
  • Effective teaching strategies
  • Teaching reading and writing in CTE classes
  • Using technology as an instructional tool
  • Effective use of Employer Advisory Committees
  • Providing work-based learning experiences
  • Articulation of ROP/CTE courses with community colleges
  • Educator/Industry Forums on industry sector occupations and skill requirements
