Family Reading Rally

2012 Theme: “Wild Reading Safari”

This parent inclusion event is co-sponsored by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, California State University / College of Education, and Target.

Children and their parents attend multiple workshop sessions (English & Spanish), a grand finale presentation, and the children have opportunities to participate in craft projects, all linking reading, writing, listening and speaking. Storytellers and puppeteers entertain and educate the participants and each child receives a free book. This event is a catalyst for other parent/community literacy events held at the individual school sites.
