4 County Education Programs Earn Statewide Golden Bell Awards

2012-11-26

SAN BERNARDINO - Four San Bernardino County educational programs have been selected to receive 2012 Golden Bell Awards, which the California School Boards Association presents annually to educational programs across the state.

The association will recognize the programs at a ceremony on Dec. 1 in San Francisco.

The four county programs that will be honored are:

  • Collaborative Coaching Model for Teachers in the Barstow Unified School District. The program provides teachers with ongoing support to increase the academic success of all K-12 students by using collaborative professional learning communities, research-based instructional strategies and data analysis to design and deliver effective lessons that maximize student achievement.
  • Teacher Induction Program for the Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa Regional Occupational Program. This program is designed to support and provide an effective transition into the teaching profession for first- and second-year career and technical education teachers.
  • Honoring Excellence, Achievement, Relationships and Teamwork at Franklin Elementary School in the Redlands Unified School District. This program incorporates cultural pride, family involvement and targeted academic support, which has allowed Franklin's English learner's subgroup to bridge the achievement gap.
  • Teacher Support Program for the Redlands Unified School District. This program supports teachers that are struggling to meet student achievement expectations by providing teachers with an opportunity for involvement in a comprehensive program with a demonstration teacher and a highly trained teacher-on-assignment for one-on-one coaching.
