2 New Assistant Superintendents Named At County Schools

SAN BERNARDINO - San Bernardino County Superintendent Gary Thomas announced that two new assistant superintendents have been hired to replace their retiring predecessors.

Randy Elphic and Lisa Norman have accepted assistant superintendent positions in Student Services and Human Resources, respectively.

"We are fortunate to bring in education leaders like Randy and Lisa to oversee our Student Services and Human Resources divisions," Thomas said. "They not only have tremendous experience in their respective areas of expertise, but they also bring a lot of institutional knowledge about our organization into their new roles."

Elphic has been a longtime administrator with County Schools and has an extensive background in special education and alternative education. For the past 16 years, he has worked in the Student Services Division, and he currently serves as the area director of East Valley Operations. His official start date as the assistant superintendent of Student Services is Aug. 1. He replaces Sharon Bolle, who is retiring.

Norman will be returning to County Schools after being an assistant superintendent for Personnel Services with the Beaumont Unified School District. Prior to that, she served as a teacher and administrator for County Schools for 14 years. In 2011, she was the director of certificated personnel in Human Resources for County Schools. Her official start date is Sept. 4, and she will be replacing Denise Danne, who retired on June 30.
