County Board Of Education Honors Distinguished ROP Students

SAN BERNARDINO - Thirteen students representing the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools' Regional Occupational Program (ROP) will be recognized with Distinguished Students Awards at a ceremony with the County Board of Education today.

"I am so proud to be able to recognize the achievements these students have made in career technical education. I salute the efforts these students have made to excel in their specific ROP classes," County Superintendent Gary Thomas said.

The 13 San Bernardino County students represent 10 county high schools in 12 areas of career technical education focus. This year's recipients are:

Allison Bradbury, Hesperia Alternative Education Center, education, child development and family services;

Jonathan Briggs, Barstow High School, manufacturing and product development;

Kaitlyn Chavez, Monument High School, building trades and construction;

Tyler Crossno, Rim of the World High School, arts, media and entertainment;

Kendra Fowler, Hesperia Alternative Education Center, information technology;

Frank Guerrero, San Gorgonio High School, engineering and design;

Juan Key, Rialto High School, transportation;

Amy Masciola, Hesperia Alternative Education Center, health science and medical technology;

Cody Newton, Rim of the World High School, public services

Dorinda Rammell, Granite Hills High School, hospitality, tourism and recreation;

Jessica Rodriguez, Fontana High School, agriculture and natural resources;

Hector Urtiz, Kaiser High School, marketing, sales and services;

Tomyia Wallace, Wilmer Amina Carter High School, health science and medical technology.
