County Board Of Education Honors Distinguished ROP Students

SAN BERNARDINO - Fifteen students representing the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools' Regional Occupational Program will be recognized with Distinguished Students Awards at a ceremony with the County Board of Education today.

"These students have achieved the most from their efforts in career technical education. It is an honor to be able to recognize their accomplishments," County Superintendent Gary Thomas said.

The 15 San Bernardino County students represent 12 county high schools in 13 areas of career technical education focus. This year's recipients, their schools and their area of achievement are:

• Korrine Bougher, Granite Hills High School, health science and medical technology (Category 2);
• Brandon Butler, Pacific High School, information technology;
• Karleen Calvert, Barstow High School, marketing, sales and service;
• Alberto Contreras, Rialto High School, transportation;
• Jose Covarrubias, Rialto Alternative Education Center, health science and medical technology (Category 1);
• Samantha Duarte, San Gorgonio High School, building trades and construction;
• Noemi Espinoza, Apple Valley High School, hospitality, tourism and recreation;
• Taylor Eurton-Henderson, Rim of the World High School, finance and business;
• Leyde Hernandez, San Bernardino High School, agriculture and natural resources;
• Sydney Huch, Rim of the World High School, health science and medical technology (Category 2);
• Kyle McNeill, Rim of the World High School, arts/media and entertainment;
• Renee Rincon, Granite Hills High School, manufacturing and product development;
• Eric Salgado, Hesperia High School, public service;
• Paul Villa, Carter High School, education child development and family services;
• Travon White, Yucca Valley High School, engineering and design.
