County Superintendent to Deliver State of Education Address on Feb. 1

SAN BERNARDINO – County Superintendent Herbert Fischer will give his sixth annual State of Education address on Feb. 1 at 3:30 p.m. at the Sturges Center for the Fine Arts at 780 N. E St. The public is invited to attend.

State Superintendent Jack O’Connell will be a special guest attending the event.

In his speech, Fischer will provide his annual progress report on public education in San Bernardino County, highlighting countywide accomplishments. He also will analyze state and national issues, as well as their impacts on local public education. Additionally, Fischer will comment on California’s budget situation, as well as the federal No Child Left Behind Act.

Since taking office in 1999, Fischer has focused the work of the County Schools office to support districts in three primary areas: student performance, preparation for work in the 21st Century and safe learning environments. His address also will highlight those areas.
