County Golden Bell Award Recipients To Be Honored

2010-12-15

SAN BERNARDINO - The San Bernardino County School Boards Association will honor three programs recognized for receiving 2010 Golden Bell Awards, which honor outstanding educational programs around the state.

The association will recognize the programs at its meeting on Jan. 31 at Etiwanda Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.

The three programs that will be honored are:

  • Yes We Can at Cabrillo Elementary School in the Upland Unified School District. The school is a professional learning community to promote academic success for all students.
  • Accelerated Math Achievement For Middle School Students at Cucamonga and Ruth Musser middle schools in the Central Elementary School District. The program helps students with math concepts through a variety of assessments and support services.
  • Step-up Preschool at Sierra Vista Elementary in the Upland Unified School District. The program uses a developmentally appropriate approach to prepare students for kindergarten.

Each of the Golden Bell recipients was honored by the California School Boards Association at its awards ceremony on Dec. 4. For more information on the Golden Bell program, visit the state school boards' website at www.csba.org.
