Preschool Programs In Chino Valley Unified Seeking Students

CHINO - Enrollment is now being accepted for state-funded preschool programs at nine sites in the Chino Valley Unified School District area operated by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools for low-income families who cannot afford to send their children to preschool.

The preschools at Chaparral Elementary and Glenmeade Elementary, as well as state preschool sites at Anna Borba, Cortez, Doris Dickson, Richard Gird, E.J. Marshall, Newman and Walnut, offer comprehensive child development programs and hold classes three hours per weekday, which began on Aug. 26. Eligibility for the programs is based on income that will be determined on a sliding scale. A family of three with a monthly gross income of $3,769 or less would meet the eligibility requirements, as would a family of six with a gross income of $5,528. Those enrolling their children do not have to be employed.

Students need to be 4 years old by Dec. 2 of the school year to receive first priority. Students need to be 3 years old by Dec. 2 of the school year to receive second priority.
