Family Involvement Support Meeting Set for Feb. 18

2005-00-02

SAN BERNARDINO – For the eighth consecutive year, the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools office is offering a series of meetings in networking and supporting family involvement.

“A child’s first teacher starts with parents. Family involvement is crucial to the academic success of students,” County Superintendent Herbert Fischer said.

The Family Involvement Support/Network holds its next meeting on Feb. 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Hesperia Unified School District office, 9144 Third Ave. in Hesperia. The meeting is open to parents and anyone working with families, such as teachers and community liaisons. The meetings focus on areas of parent involvement, such as volunteering in the classroom and supporting student learning at home. The Feb. 18 meeting focuses on building partnerships using technology and on-line resources.
