2010-04-27

ONTARIO - The 23rd annual Multilingual Recognition Program, which honors educators and community volunteers for their outstanding contributions to the achievement of linguistically diverse students, will be held on April 30 at the Ontario Airport Marriott. In addition, students also will be recognized for their academic achievements.

The community volunteers, paraprofessionals, resource support staff, parents, students, teachers, and administrators will be honored for their work from San Bernardino County school districts. County Superintendent Gary Thomas will give the welcome address and will announce the Countywide Award recipient.

"This is a celebration of the excellent programs and contributions of those who contribute to our county's English Learners," said Lizette Diaz, categorical coordinator for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. "Our program honors and recognizes the achievements and efforts of individuals who exceed expectations and deserve special recognition."

The program begins at 6 p.m. on April 30 and features the Ray Wiltsey Middle School Mariachi Ensemble from the Ontario-Montclair School District. Also featured will be the Ballet Folkloric dancers from Eisenhower High School in the Rialto Unified School District.
