County Committee On School District Organization Re-Elects Pair

SAN BERNARDINO - The San Bernardino County Committee on School District Organization re-elected two of its representatives at its annual fall joint meeting of the San Bernardino and Riverside County school boards associations on Oct. 29.

Ray Abril of Colton, who represents the Fifth Supervisorial District, and Ernie Moran of Victorville, who represents the First Supervisorial District, both won re-elections for four-year terms.

The 11-member county committee has two representatives for each of the five supervisorial districts, plus one member-at-large. The committee meets monthly as needed to rule on matters such as school district boundary changes, school district unification proposals and changes in school trustee elections. Committee members are elected by school trustee representatives and serve four-year terms.

Monthly meetings of the County Committee normally are held on the third Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. Meetings are conducted in accordance with the Brown Act or open meeting law.
