County Superintendent To Give State of Education Address On Feb. 11

SAN BERNARDINO - County Superintendent Gary Thomas will give his inaugural State of Education address on Feb. 11 at 3:30 p.m. at the Sturges Center for the Fine Arts at 780 N. E St. The public is invited to attend.

In his speech, Thomas will provide a progress report on public education in San Bernardino County, highlighting countywide accomplishments. He also will address the current state budget crisis and the national economic downturn.

Since taking office in August 2008, Thomas has continued to focus the work of the County Schools office to provide superior service to schools and districts to close the access and achievement gaps and reduce dropout rates. His address also will provide progress reports in these areas and discuss future priorities for the County Schools' office.
