Weisser New Chair Of County Committee On School District Organization

SAN BERNARDINO - The San Bernardino County Committee on School District Organization elected a new chairperson and vice chair at its annual fall joint meeting of the San Bernardino and Riverside County school boards associations on Dec. 17.

Stanley Weisser, a resident of Redlands who represents the Third Supervisorial District, was elected chair of the committee. Nancy Kettle, a resident of Alta Loma who represents the Second Supervisorial District, was elected the vice chair.

The 11-member committee has two representatives for each of the five supervisorial districts, plus one member-at-large. The committee meets monthly as needed to rule on matters such as school district boundary changes, school district unification proposals and changes in school trustee elections. Committee members are elected by school trustee representatives and serve four-year terms.

Monthly meetings of the County Committee normally are held on the third Wednesday at 7 p.m. Meetings are conducted in accordance with the Brown Act or opening meeting law.
