West End SELPA Community Advisory Meeting Set For Oct. 28

RANCHO CUCAMONGA - The Community Advisory Committee of the West End Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) will hold a presentation on Oct. 28 on understanding the Office of Administrative Hearings process.

The committee's business meeting and presentation will be held at the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools' West End Service Center at 8265 Aspen Ave. in Rancho Cucamonga with the business meeting beginning at 5:45 p.m. and the Office of Administrative Hearings presentation starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Office of Administrative Hearings is a state agency that conducts administrative hearings for a variety of state and local agencies. Of particular interest to parents and educators are the dispute resolution services provided by the state agency. It provides administrative law judges and mediators to assist in the resolution of disputes related to services provided to those with disabilities.

The state agency will present a two-hour presentation that provides an overview of its process. The presentation is aimed at parents, educational agencies, regional center employees, and others interested in the services provided by the state agency.

The West End SELPA represents the following school districts: Alta Loma, Central, Chaffey Joint Union High School, Chino Valley Unified, Cucamonga, Etiwanda, Mt. Baldy Joint, Mountain View, Ontario-Montclair, County Superintendent of Schools' West End Operations and Upland Unified.
