Countywide School Safety Summit Set For Oct. 2 In Ontario

ONTARIO - The 2008 School Safety Summit Conference for San Bernardino County will be held on Oct. 2 at the Ontario Police Department.

The annual free event is presented by the Countywide Gangs and Drugs Task Force, in collaboration with the Law Enforcement and Education Partnership and the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools.

California gang expert Alfonso Valdez of the University of California, Irvine, and Aquil Basheer, CEO of the BUILD Youth Empowerment Academy, will be two of the featured speakers at the event, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Ontario Police Department is located at 2500 S. Archibald Ave.
