Multilingual Recognition Program on May 20

SAN BERNARDINO – Sixty-six honorees will be celebrated at the 18th annual Multilingual Recognition Program on May 20 at the Ontario Airport Marriott. Community volunteers, paraprofessionals, resource support staff, students, teachers and administrators will be honored for their work in San Bernardino County school districts to improve the educational opportunities for English Learners.

“It’s a celebration of the excellent programs available to English Learners,” said Martha Lilia Hall, multilingual coordinator for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS). “It honors the individuals who have made a difference and who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.”

The program starts at 5:45 p.m. Francisca Sánchez, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction for SBCSS, will give the welcome. Zenaida Rosario, the 2004 California Teacher of the Year and 2005 California Association for Bilingual Education Teacher of the Year, will be the keynote speaker.

The following students, staff and volunteers from San Bernardino County school districts will be recognized:

Students
