County Schools Office Accepting Names for New Site

SAN BERNARDINO ñ The San Bernardino County Board of Education is soliciting names for four school sites in Etiwanda, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands and Rialto.

Two of the sites are early education centers at 12860 Banyan St. in Etiwanda and 8435 Archibald Ave. in Rancho Cucamonga, which provide education services to children of preschool age with special needs. The site in Redlands at 1712 W. Park Ave. will provide educational services to junior and senior high school students with special needs. The Rialto site at 149 N. Arrowhead Ave. will provide educational services to at-risk junior and senior high school students.

School names need to be submitted to the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools office by April 21. According to board policy, the names shall include the word, ìcounty.î The names may be of historical or geographic significance. The board may elect to name a facility after an educational or civic leader who has made significant contributions. The board will consider the compiled list of names and conduct a public hearing prior to naming the schools at its May 2 meeting.
