NOTICE INVITING BIDS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the ____ District of San Bernardino County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as the District, will receive up to, but not later than XXX p.m. of the XXX day of XXXX, 1993, sealed bids for the award of a contract for the construction of:

All bids shall be made on a bid form furnished by the District.

Bids will be received at the _____ at or before the time and date stated above, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Each bid must conform and be responsive to all pertinent Bidding and Contract Documents. Copies are on file and open for public inspection at the District Office. Prospective general contract bidders may secure up to three (3) sets of said documents from the XXX, (Address), upon payment of a deposit of XX($XXX.XX) per set. Deposits will be refunded upon the return of said documents in good condition within five (5) days after bids on the project have been opened. A non-refundable mailing charge of XXX Dollars ($XX.XX) will be required for each set mailed to California cities. For information regarding this project, prospective bidders are requested to contact XXXX, Project Manager at XXXX.

Attention is directed to the requirements of the information for Bidders regarding goals for Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Women Business Enterprise (WBE), and Disabled Veterans Enterprise (DVE) participation on this project. This project has a goal of 15 percent Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), 5 percent Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation and 3 percent Disabled Veterans Enterprise (DVE).

Each bid shall be accompanied by the bid security, list of Designated Subcontractors, Noncollusion Affidavit and MBE/WBE/DVE Certification Forms required by the Information For Bidders.

Prospective subcontract bidders may secure one set of said documents form the office of XXX,(Address), upon non-refundable payment of $XXX.XX per set. A non-refundable mailing charge of (XXX Dollars ($XX.XX) will be required for each set mailed to California cities. For information regarding this project, prospective bidders are requested to contact XXX at XXX.

Prequalification of Bidders: As a condition of bidding and in accordance with the provisions of Section 20111.5 of the California Public Contract Code, prospective bidders are required to submit to the District a completed prequalification questionnaire and financial statement supplied by the District. Once submitted, a Contractor's prequalification statement is valid until the financial information shown in the statement is more than a year old. Bids for projects requiring prequalification will not be accepted if a Contractor's statement is not on file with the District. Prequalification packages must be submitted to the ___________ no later than XXX, 1993. For information regarding prequalification, please call Linda M. The District has obtained from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of work needed to execute the contract. Holiday rates shall be paid as specified in the collective bargaining agreement applicable to each particular craft, classification or type of work employed on the project.

Copies of schedules of rates so determined are on file at _______, and are available to any interested party upon request.

In accordance with Section 1773.2 of the California Labor Code, the Contractor shall post a copy of the determination of prevailing rate of wages at each job site.

The schedule of per diem wages is based upon a working day of eight (8) hours. The rate for holiday and overtime work shall be at time and one-half.

The Contractor and any subcontractor(s) shall pay not less than the specified prevailing rates of wages to all workers employed by them in the execution of the contract.

A payment bond and performance bond will be required prior to the execution of the contract. The payment bond and performance bond shall be in the form and amount set forth in the contract documents.

In accordance with provisions of Public Contract Code Section 22300, substitution of eligible and equivalent securities for any monies withheld to ensure performance under this contract will be permitted at the request and expense of the contractor.

Each bidder shall possess at the time this contract is awarded a Class B Contractor's license, pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 3300. The successful bidder must maintain the license throughout the duration of this contract.

No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set of the opening thereof.

The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive irregularities in any bid.
