Subsidized Child Care Program

The KidsNCare Subsidized Child Care Programs offer child care to families that meet the California Department of Education, Child Development Division’s (CDE, CDD) guidelines.

KidsNCare Subsidized Child Care Programs are parental choice programs. Parents can select the most appropriate child care for his/her needs from a full range of licensed providers, license-exempt providers, or TrustLine within San Bernardino County.

Families may qualify for the programs on the basis of income and need. Child care is provided while the parent is working, in a training program or school, or briefly seeking employment.

Priority is given to children receiving Child Protective Services (CPS), as well as children identified by a legal, medical, social service agency or emergency shelter as abused, neglected or exploited or at risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation. Priority is also given to homeless families seeking permanent housing for stability.

Children who have reached their thirteenth (13th) birthday are ineligible for subsidized services with the exception of children who have exceptional needs and/or severely handicapped, and/or physically or mentally incapable of caring for themselves as determined by a legally qualified professional. Children with exceptional needs shall also meet the criteria for that age group specified in Education Code Section 56026 and Title 5 California Code of Regulations, Sections 3030 and 3031.
